Over the years, I’ve visited with a number of agents about joining the National Association of Health Underwriters, only to be told that they didn’t see the value in spending an hour or two a month with a bunch of their competitors. I’ve always thought that argument was a glass-half-empty way of looking at the association.

One of the quickest ways to earn yourself a few self-administered pats on the back is to divide the big tasks on your to-do list into a bunch of small steps. Sure, it makes for a longer list, but each item will be much easier to complete, and as you check off the completed tasks you’ll get a real sense of accomplishment.

I just finished watching the inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. Today is not only a historic occasion but also, I truly believe, the beginning of a new day in America. So this seems like an appropriate time to start my new blog.
